Somebody should be on the buyer's side. So we are.
India's rooftop revolution has generous subsidies, capable installers and a working process — and yet the individual buyer stands alone against all three. Solar Subsidy India exists to change which side of the table the expertise sits on.
Built from the paperwork up.
Solar Subsidy India grew out of the AgPro Consulting group’s core competence: helping ordinary Indians and small enterprises get what government schemes actually promise them. The group’s consulting work in rural and engineering India runs constantly through subsidy frameworks, empanelment lists, DISCOM procedures and application portals — the same machinery, it turned out, that decides whether a family’s rooftop solar project takes six weeks or six months.
When PM Surya Ghar launched in 2024 and made residential solar genuinely affordable at national scale, the gap became obvious. Installers had salesmen; the government had a portal; the buyer had neither an advocate nor a translator. Quotes couldn’t be compared, systems were sized to commissions, and the paperwork — free and navigable in principle — stalled in practice on details nobody explained. The mortgage market solved this problem with buyer-side brokers decades ago. Solar needed the same seat filled.
So we filled it, deliberately and narrowly: advisory only, no installation arm, no vendor commissions, fees transparent to the person paying them. We are a young firm and say so plainly — you will find no invented testimonials or stock-photo customers here. What you can inspect instead is the process itself: the vetting criteria, the comparison format, the caveats on every number, and the founder’s name on the door.
Solar Subsidy India is a specialist division of AgPro Consulting Private Limited. (CIN U70200DL2025PTC450905, incorporated 2025), with operating teams in Pune and New Delhi. All engagements, invoicing and contracting are in the name of AgPro Consulting Private Limited.
Vision and Mission
An India where going solar is as safe and legible a purchase as it is a sensible one.
To put an informed, independent advisor on the buyer’s side of every solar decision — subsidy to switch-on.
Four commitments, structurally kept.
- Independent by construction
- No installation arm, no vendor commissions, no 'preferred partner' fees. Our only paying relationship is with the buyer — which is the one structural guarantee that advice stays honest.
- Process fluency, city by city
- The national portal is one thing; BSES vs Tata Power-DDL vs MSEDCL vs BESCOM vs Torrent in practice is another. We work city-deep, and it shows in how fast files move.
- Right the first time
- Most subsidy delays are filing errors. Our pre-filing verification — category, load, consent, bank details — exists because a correct application is the cheapest acceleration there is.
- Numbers with their caveats attached
- Where a figure is set by MNRE or a state and can change, we say so and point at the source. If our page and pmsuryaghar.gov.in ever disagree, the portal wins — and we tell you that upfront.
How we run the firm.
- Say it plain
- Subsidy rules explained in the language your family discusses decisions in — not scheme jargon, not sales English.
- An honest no
- If solar doesn’t suit your roof, consumption or timing, you hear it in the first call. A recommendation means something only if 'no' was possible.
- The buyer pays us, so the buyer owns us
- No installer commissions on your project — ever. The moment a vendor relationship could bias a comparison, the vendor goes, not the standard.
- Track out loud
- You always know which stage your file is at and what it’s waiting on. Silence is the enemy of every government process; we don’t do silence.
